Here is your chance to own a crew ship of your own! From Halter Marine comes an experimental craft for the hardworking commuter. The AMERICAN ENTERPRISE was a trial balloon constructed for carrying crews and supplies to and from offshore oil drilling rigs. The goal of the ENTERPRISE was to get there and back in a hurry, regardless of weather conditions. To accomplish this task, she was equipped with a high-speed 24-inch water jet powered by a gas turbine. When the operators were feeling a bit more leisurely, they switched to the 16-inch water jets powered by two Detroit diesels.
This all-wood kit is engineered from top-grade birch and mahogany plywood, precision die-cut for an exacting fit. A 27-piece cast fittings set is included, as well as many other detail items.

The real CREOLE QUEEN was built in 1983 for the New Orleans World's Fair held the following year, but was designed to look like a true 19th-century sternwheeler.

MOUNT WASHINGTON was launched from New Hampshire's Alton Bay in 1872. The MOUNT was the largest of all the steamers on the lake at 187 feet in length, with a beam measuring 49 feet. She was built by the Boston and Maine Railroad Co. to transport cargo and passengers around the lake and did so for nearly seven decades: first as a commercial ferry; then, beginning in the 1920s, as a tourist cruiser operated by Capt. Leander Lavallee. In her heydey, the vessel affectionately known as the "OLD MOUNT" transported upward of 60,000 passengers per season before she was destroyed by fire in December 1939.
The Dumas kit of the MOUNT WASHINGTON includes everything needed to bring the steamer's original grandeur back to life. The original BROOKLYN was a steam-powered tug, which was built in 1910. She was a railroad tug designed to transfer railroad cars from one side of New York to the other on barges known as car floats.

Built in 1901, the coastal tug LACKAWANNA was a twin-boiler, coal-fired steam tug with a length of 137 feet. The hull and superstructure were painted white, and along with a beautiful, sheer line, she presented an almost yacht-like appearance.
The kit of this impressive boat has a vacuum-formed ABS hull, expanded PVC die-cut parts, and laser-cut plywood and balsa construction.

A typical 1800s river towboat that hauled barges up and down the Mississippi and other major arteries, this little workhorse probably saw more action than the big paddlers who got all the glory.

Cornell Tugboat

For well over 100 years, Cornell steamboats stood out on New York's Hudson River thanks to their signature yellow-and-black smoke stacks. The GEORGE W. WASHBURN, launched by the Cornell Steamboat Company to move stones, sand and bricks between Albany and New York City, had the added distinction of being the fastest tug on the Hudson, at least in her early years. Since she also took on paying passengers, her appearance was kept up, ensuring the WASHBURN was looking her best until she was decommissioned in the 1940s and ultimately broken up at a Staten Island boat yard in 1950.
This kit features laser-cut plank-on-frame construction and is designed for radio control. A 2-channel radio is required and must be purchased separately.

The JENNY LEE is a generic tug of the variety that plied the harbors of the southern United States from the early 1900s to the 1940s.
It's easy to build, with balsa-planked construction over laser-cut frames. Laser-cut PVC construction of the pilot house, plus metal fittings, vacuum forms, color decals, and laser-cut detail parts finish this model.

The CITY OF BUFFALO is a beautiful example of the steamboats that flourished on the resort lakes of the Northeastern United States in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
This 1/48th scale model of the CITY OF BUFFALO is balsa-planked over laser-cut lite ply frames, and uses a combination of balsa, poplar plywood and expanded PVC. The kit is beautifully detailed, with cast metal pieces, laser-cut components, flags, decals and much more. The construction documentation includes full-size plans, a 57-page instruction booklet, and a 30-page figure packet with 70 individual figure drawings.

The Gulf Coast shrimp boat RUSTY is a 1/24th-scale plank-on-frame model of a typical shrimp boat hull found working the Gulf states from Florida to Texas.
The model is supplied with outriggers, trawl boards, nets, cleaning benches and coolers to outfit the modeler with the details of the working shrimper. It has a plank-on-frame construction of balsa over laser-cut popular plywood frames. The cabin and pilot house are constructed of laser- and die-cut plywood and PVC sheeting. The kit includes material for scaffolding, nets, outriggers and much more. Included is a massive construction manual with drawings accompanying step-by-step instructions.
DUMAS MODEL BOATS
The CAROL MORAN is one of the oldest and most enduring of the Moran Towing tugboat line. Built in 1949 by the Levingston Shipbuilding Company of Orange, Texas, the CAROL MORAN was one of a group of five boats in the Grace Moran class of tugs produced for the New York-based Moran Towing. She had a hull length of 99 feet and was powered with a single Cleveland 16-278A diesel-electric engine delivering 1,750 horsepower.
Dumas offers two kits for reconstructing the CAROL MORAN: a tidy 17.75-inch model and a showstopping 50-incher. Read up to decide which project is best for you — or go for broke and build both!

Good things do come in small packages! This tugboat from Dumas is less than 18 inches long but has plenty to offer.
